Technology That Keeps Freight MovingSmarter, Faster, and Safer
Since our early days, GP Transco has believed that technology is one of the most important differentiators in the trucking industry. While many carriers relied on paper transactions and outdated operational methods, we invested early into modern systems that improve efficiency, safety, communication, and real-time visibility for both drivers and customers.
Built to Lead — Not Play Catch-Up
GP Transco's founders entered the transportation industry with career backgrounds influenced by technology-driven industries such as Aviation, Finance, Software, and IT. From the beginning, we recognized that trucking could — and should — operate with the same modern standards as the most innovative industries in the world.
Technological development and infrastructure doesn't just improve operations. It strengthens company culture, improves efficiency, and helps attract talent to an industry that often struggles with reputation and prestige. Our in-house technology also improves communication with drivers and customers and allows us to quickly adapt to market changes or solve challenges before they become problems.
Built by the people who know the work best
Across marketing, maintenance, operations, and finance, our employees are using AI to turn real operational challenges into purpose-built internal tools — faster than ever before.
The result: ideas move faster, solutions are more relevant, and innovation becomes part of the culture — not a department.

Leading the Future of Trucking Technology
In 2026, GP Transco was named CCJ Innovator of the Year — one of the highest honors in the industry — by Commercial Carrier Journal for groundbreaking advancements in artificial intelligence and logistics optimization.
This award recognizes our cutting-edge AI-driven tools that supercharge planning efficiency, automate load-matching, reduce planner workload, and eliminate errors — proving once again that GP Transco isn't just part of the industry evolution, we're driving it.
Top-of-the-Line Equipment Built for Efficiency & Safety
GP Transco operates modern equipment designed to maximize uptime, efficiency, and driver comfort. Our fleet is built around the Freightliner Cascadia — one of the most advanced on-highway trucks Freightliner has offered.
Freightliner Cascadia Highlights
- Advanced aerodynamics designed to boost fuel efficiency
- Smart exterior design that improves basic vehicle servicing and increases uptime
- Safety features such as collision mitigation and lane departure assist
Detroit Integrated Powertrain (IDP)
The Detroit Integrated Powertrain (IDP) is engineered to work together as a single unit for optimal drivetrain efficiency. It integrates fuel-efficient DD15 and DD13 engines with technologically advanced DT12 on-highway transmissions and engineered axles for efficient performance.
Connected Vehicle Services
The Detroit Connect suite of connected vehicle services supports performance monitoring and empowers smarter business decisions by providing ongoing performance data.
GP Transco maintains one of the youngest fleets in the industry — ensuring drivers operate the latest safety technology, fuel-efficient powertrains, and modern cab amenities on every mile.
OpenRoad TMS + Real-Time Visibility
Even in our early days, we knew that off-the-shelf transportation management systems wouldn't meet the demanding needs of our customers, employees, and leadership. That is why GP Transco built a custom, cloud and web-based TMS from scratch.
OpenRoad TMS (In-House Built)
In 2013, GP Transco decided to build a custom TMS to support operational speed, flexibility, and situational awareness. This system helps manage the entire lifecycle of a load — from entry to billing — and provides visibility to employees and customers alike.
- Single, secure place to store and access customer, load, driver, truck, and trailer information
- Real-time load visibility for customers
- Automatic notifications if delays occur due to weather, breakdowns, or unexpected issues
- Proof of delivery (POD) and invoicing delivered within minutes after delivery
- Delivered-to-billed time reduced from days to minutes
Driver Mobile App
Drivers access load information through an in-house developed mobile app, making the process of accepting a load and getting on the road extremely efficient.
Dashboards + Operational Control
Office staff manage fleet operations through high-visibility dashboards that quickly identify trouble spots across the system and allow teams to drill down into issues at a detailed level.
AI-Assisted Load Planning
Fleet managers allocate capacity using factors such as truck distance from shipper, driver availability, driver time and preference, and available hours of service. Fleet managers are assisted by AI to ensure the most optimal decisions are made — minimizing sitting trucks and improving efficiency and safety.
AI at a Glance
Built In-House to Solve Real-World Logistics Problems
At GP Transco, artificial intelligence is not a buzzword—it is a practical tool built to solve one of the most complex challenges in trucking: planning.
Planning shipments across a national fleet requires evaluating dozens of constantly changing variables. To solve this, GP Transco developed its own in-house, AI-powered planning technology designed specifically for real-world transportation operations.
The AI evaluates every driver, then recommends the best match — assigned with a single click.
Modern Shipment Planning
Planning is a highly complex, ever-changing process. For every shipment, planners must reference multiple tools and data sources, including:
- Driver location and availability
- Load requirements
- Hours of Service (HOS) compliance
- Driver performance metrics
- Live traffic conditions
- Weather events and delays
Managing all of this manually across disconnected systems creates inefficiencies and slows decision-making.
Our AI-Powered Driver Shipment Planner
GP Transco built an in-house, AI-powered Driver Shipment Planner to unify critical planning inputs into a single intelligent system.
Instead of manually cross-checking multiple tools, the system analyzes operational data in real time and recommends the best driver-to-shipment match.
What the AI Considers
Closest available driver
Available Hours of Service
Driver hometime considerations
Time required to load and unload
LIVE vs. DROP determination
Historical average loading/unloading time by facility
Whether the shipment is time-sensitive ("HOT")
Weather risks and delay potential
Gross profit per hour
This allows planners to make faster, more informed decisions while balancing service reliability, driver needs, and profitability.
Why This Matters
For Customers
- More reliable planning decisions
- Improved on-time performance
- Fewer disruptions caused by weather or poor driver fit
For Drivers
- Smarter load recommendations
- Better alignment with hours and hometime
- Reduced guesswork and operational stress
Current Capabilities & Limitations
GP Transco is transparent about the maturity of its AI systems.
- Planning is currently performed one shipment at a time
- The system provides recommendations but does not automatically assign loads
- Multi-day planning is not yet enabled
The Road Ahead
- Multi-day and full-week driver planning
- Fully automated, AI-powered shipment assignment
- Incorporation of driver preferences
- Integration of ELITE Score data into planning recommendations
- Self-learning machine-learning models that continuously improve decisions
This technology is built internally by GP Transco, for GP Transco—designed around the realities of running a high-performance trucking operation.
It is not theoretical AI. It is AI that plans trucks, drivers, and freight every day.
Selective Partnerships With Best-in-Class Tech Vendors
